About These Terms

These End User Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to you when you submit a review or private feedback through CustomerReviews.io, operated by Customer Reviews Pty Ltd (ABN: 42 620 966 663).

By submitting a review or feedback, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't submit a review or feedback.

These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal information.

1. What You're Agreeing To

When you submit a review or feedback on CustomerReviews.io:

•    You provide your name, email address, review text or feedback, star rating, order number or reference ID (if applicable), and optionally photos
•    You don't create an account – reviews and feedback are submitted through email invitations or business website links
•    You may choose to submit a public review or private feedback (or both)
•    If you submit a public review, you agree it will be publicly visible on the business's CustomerReviews.io page

•    If you submit private feedback, it will only be visible to the business
•    You understand public reviews may appear in search engines and on business websites
•    You may receive reminder emails if you don't complete your review or feedback

2. Public Reviews vs. Private Feedback

2.1 Public Reviews:

•    Visible to everyone on the internet
•    Indexed by search engines (Google, Bing, etc.)
•    Can be displayed on business websites
•    May be synced to Google Business Profile (if you rate 4-5 stars)

2.2 Private Feedback:

•    Only visible to the business you're reviewing
•    NOT publicly displayed
•    NOT indexed by search engines
•    Helps businesses improve their service

You can choose to submit: (1) only a public review, (2) only private feedback, or (3) both a public review and private feedback.

3. Review and Feedback Requirements

3.1 Your Reviews and Feedback Must Be:

•    Truthful and accurate based on your genuine personal experience
•    Your own content (not copied from elsewhere)
•    Appropriate (no offensive, defamatory, or illegal content)
•    Unpaid and unbiased (not submitted in exchange for payment or incentives)
•    Respectful of privacy and intellectual property rights

3.2 You Must Not:

•    Submit fake, fraudulent, or misleading reviews or feedback
•    Submit reviews for businesses you haven't personally experienced
•    Include hate speech, harassment, threats, or discriminatory content
•    Include spam, advertising, or commercial solicitations
•    Violate any laws or infringe on third-party rights
•    Include personal information about others without consent
•    Submit reviews or feedback that could harm minors or vulnerable individuals

4. Public Visibility of Reviews – Important

If you submit a public review, it will be PUBLIC. This means:

•    Anyone can view your review without logging in at https://business.customerreviews.io
•    Search engines will index your review (Google, Bing, etc.)
•    Your review may appear in search results when people search for the business or your name
•    Businesses can display your review on their websites using our widget
•    Your name, review text, star rating, and photos (if uploaded) are all visible to the public
•    Third parties may archive or screenshot your review even after deletion

Important: Don't include confidential, sensitive, or private information in public reviews. Once published, your review is publicly accessible worldwide. Use private feedback for sensitive information you want only the business to see.

5. Photos You Upload

If you upload photos with your review:

•    Your privacy is protected: We automatically remove all EXIF metadata from your photos, including GPS location, camera information, and timestamps
•    Business approval required: Photos must be approved by the business before becoming publicly visible
•    Public display: Once approved, photos are publicly displayed alongside your review
•    Automatic optimization: Photos are automatically resized and optimized for web display
You must own the rights to any photos you upload and have permission to share them publicly.

6. Order Numbers and Reference IDs

Some businesses may ask you to provide an order number or reference ID when submitting your review or feedback. This helps them:

•    Verify you're a genuine customer
•    Look up your specific order or service
•    Respond more effectively to your feedback

Providing an order number is optional unless the business requires it. Order numbers are not publicly displayed.

7. License You Grant Us

By submitting a review or feedback, you grant:

•    For public reviews: CustomerReviews.io and the reviewed business a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to display, distribute, and use your review content
•    For private feedback: The reviewed business a non-exclusive, perpetual license to use your feedback for business improvement purposes

This means we and the business can display public reviews on CustomerReviews.io, business websites, marketing materials related to the business, and other platforms. Private feedback is only shared with the business. You retain ownership of your content but give us permission to use it.

8. Editing or Deleting Your Review or Feedback

8.1 How to Request Changes or Deletion:

Email support@customerreviews.io with:

•    Your name
•    Email address used for the review or feedback
•    Business name
•    Details of your request

We will verify your identity and process your request within 30 days.

8.2 What Happens When You Delete:

•    Public reviews: Removed from CustomerReviews.io, business widgets, and our database
•    Private feedback: The business retains private feedback for their records (it belongs to them for business improvement)
•    The business's response to your review is also removed
•    Important: Public reviews may persist in search engine caches or third-party archives even after deletion

8.3 Google Reviews:

If you left a Google review: You must manage it directly through Google. We cannot delete or modify Google reviews.

9. Review Reminder Emails

If you start but don't complete a review or feedback submission, we may send you reminder emails. You can:

•    Complete your review or feedback
•    Ignore the reminders (they'll stop after a few attempts)
•    Click the unsubscribe link in the reminder email

10. Your Privacy

Our Privacy Policy (available at customerreviews.io/privacy-policy) explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

By submitting a review or feedback, you also agree to our Privacy Policy.

Key Privacy Points:

•    We collect: Your name, email address, review text or feedback, ratings, order numbers (if provided), and photos (if uploaded)
•    We use it to: Display your review (if public), share feedback with businesses, send notification emails when businesses respond, and respond to your inquiries
•    We protect it: With encryption, security measures, and automatic removal of photo metadata
•    Your rights: You can request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data

11. Business Responses

Businesses may respond to your public review through our platform. When they do:

•    You'll receive an email notification
•    The response will be publicly visible alongside your review
•    Responses may be synced to the business's Google Business Profile
•    If you delete your review, the business's response is also removed

Note: Businesses do not respond to private feedback through our platform. Private feedback is for internal business improvement only.

12. Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove reviews or feedback that:

•    Violate these Terms
•    Are fake, fraudulent, or misleading
•    Contain illegal, offensive, or inappropriate content
•    Violate third-party rights
•    Are required to be removed by law

We may remove content with or without notice and are not required to explain our reasons.

13. Age Requirements

You must be at least 18 years old to submit a review or feedback. CustomerReviews.io is a commercial review platform designed for adult consumers.

14. Disclaimers

CustomerReviews.io is provided "as is" without warranties.

We are not responsible for:

•    Service interruptions or errors
•    Loss of your review or feedback content
•    Disputes between you and businesses
•    How businesses use or respond to your reviews or feedback
•    Third-party actions (search engines, archives, etc.)

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited. Nothing in these Terms excludes consumer rights under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded by law, including guarantees that cannot be excluded.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. By continuing to use our service after changes, you agree to the updated Terms.
